An animation intended to reflect on museum-based educational goals ended up as a collaborative social media post with the Collection Cisneros. This action was a response to pandemic times and the recent exhibition and acquisition of numerous works of Latin American modern art, particularly non-representational art from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and Uruguay by MoMA and other major museums in New York City. Two questions guided each of these projects:
1. How can object-based learning be reimagined through digital manipulation? I explored one of the principles of modern Brazilian art—audience participation—by allowing viewers to manipulate objects via animation in the piece below.
How could gallery activities be adapted to a multimedia environment, such as platforms that connect art to music? This animation explored the relationship between Venezuelan geometric abstraction and traditional Venezuelan music?
